Description of the Seminar

The event also includes two simultaneous seminars: one for the students and another for the teachers. Both seminars will be about the current developments and breakthroughs in Physics. Although the topics discussed in both seminars will be the same, the approaches of course will be different.

The speaker for the teachers' seminar is Dr. May Lim, an assistant professor of Physics and a member of the Instrumentation Physics Laboratory of the National Institute of Physics. She recently published the product of her post-doctoral research entitled "Global Pattern Formation and Cultural/Ethnic Violence" in the prestigious journal Science.

The seminar/workshop for students will be presided by Dr. Carlo Mar Blanca, an associate professor of Physics and a member of the Instrumentation Physics Laboratory of the National Institute of Physics. To make the discussion lively, the speaker will be assisted by members of the UP Physics Association from time to time.

The seminars will be held in the afternoon and will last for one hour and thirty minutes.
